Nowt to do with me, it was just thrown up by Google

Loads of stuff available now for the Ka. I can vouch for the lightness. I had a Sportka up to a year ago: cracking drive & handling for a
shopping trolley - just needed a better engine.
The Puma's 1.7 Zetec was a popular replacement for the 1.3 a couple of years ago. Lighter and more revvy than the 1.8 / 2l, IIRC.
Or if you can get a ST 150 / 170, it might be fun without needing daft money. BTW: the ST 150 begs for an aftermarket ECU - the knock sensing used to
drive me nuts!
Hope that helps,
Francis
The Ka was initially designed to have a 2 stroke engine and that is why they have such a low ,front end and had the wheezy OHV engines. So any mods
are going to need a change of bonnet style I would imagine such as a mighty big power-bulge...
As the kits show, the engine needs dropping so I would advise some kind of sump guard soon after installation to avoid the inevitable...
Sounds like an awesome project thou...
Good luck
Andy
The Ka 1.3 engine is basically a modernised crossflow, I believe. How about a 1.7 race preped crossflow like many people have in their locosts? 150
BHP might be nice and it may well bolt right up to your Ka with very little work. Does anyone know if the engines are the same size with the same
mounts and gearbox bolt patterns?
Immobilisers and engine management may be a slight problem.
How about a 2.0 V-tech and supercharge it?
stick in an R1 or busa.....you know it makes sense......

love a bec but costs to much going to go with a 2.0 zetec after speaking jo at
track desings
sounds quite easy bolt in mount £245 only one to change ans the others are on ka box and thats what they all use.
need a 1.8 silver top sump and oip pick up and fly wheel.
and jo will wire up the car for 150
sounds like it will be fun noting like the locost r1 but still great fun when striped out. best bit getting the ka for free
Make sure you change the bushes on the track control arms while you're at it. They produce a tell-tale squeak / groan when the rubber dries out
& starts to perish. They were pretty easy to change.
Oh, and you might want to add a cold feed or two, especially if you're going to keep the bonnet line or fit a cone filter.
Make sure you let us know how it's going.
