....and I'm back from the event!
Overall consensus from me, a mate and the two wives is that it was bloody cold, a disjointed event with too many fillers (stunt bike riding etc),
overpriced and ridiculously poor quality food and drinks, but despite all this, it was strangely entertaining. The stadium was quite empty though so
lost a little atmosphere!
We were particularly p*ssed off that the 'man vs machine' Hoy vs Hamilton event was canceled. Two people sat near us got up and left at
that point!
I felt like a leper cheering for Loeb in the final. Coulthard decided he would rather display the Scottish flag as opposed to the Union Jack. Since
he wanted to differentiate himself, I simply adopted the position that I am English not Scottish! With no British man to follow in the final, I
followed my heart and supported the best driver! I simply supported a French man as opposed to a Scott!
And, the Frenchie won!!!!!!
lol!
If it makes you feel any better the TV coverage on Sky was just as disjointed with commercials every 5 mins usually returning after the next heat had
begun or busy interviewing Tom Kristiansen while Lewis was doing his demo run. Seemed pretty p1ss poorly organised to me. Enjoyed what I did see
though and good on Seb for winning. His come back from his "off" in the XBow was fantastic. Did look bloody cold!! Shame the track had so
little grip.

I went as well - you're right, it was way overpriced - no wonder half the stadium was empty, and too much filler in between the heats. I think
KTM must have paid a good whack to have their cars in there, as they seemed to appear more often than anything else....
I was amazed when Seb went under those barriers at one point, then won the heat anyway!
And as for the track being frozen, it's winter, in England, it's going to be cold and wet! They could have put the roof across on Saturday
to stop it from getting wet, or put heating elements under the tarmac to burn off the frost and give them some more grip! then every time something
went wrong (the celebrities only lasted two races before they'd crashed all 4 abarth fiat 500s), they seemed to have no plan other than send out
one of the stunt guys (who were v. good I thought...).
Next year I think I'll spend my hard-earned at FoS instead...
It looked shite on Sky. Everytime I switched on, it was highlights from last year.
I wanted to go this year, glad I didn't now.
I didn't go. Or see it on Sky.
So there!
