OT: Where to buy high-heel covers?
James - 17/12/08 at 02:21 PM

Having an Xmas party very soon and I'm rather worried about high-heels (stilettos especially) wrecking my newly laid sitting room floor.

I'm under the impression that if you go to stately homes etc. with wooden floors then they hand out high-heel covers to ladies (or gents ) wearing heels that may damage the floor.

Any idea where I can get a pack of these in a hurry?
I've failed miserably to find them using google!
Locostbuilders being the font of all knowledge there's bound to be someone on here who knows!!!

Thanks!
James

To be honest shoes off seems the easiest solution.

yes, someone posted once "where to buy an elephant"

and yes, it appeared to be a serious question as he wanted one for this park

Shoes off at the door is the rule in our house - otherwise its just mud and horseshit everywhere. Tell people to bring their own slippers if they're sniffy about it, although socks are much more fun on hardwood floors.

Unfortunately, the dogs sometimes forget the 'sit still until you've had your paws wiped' rule.

James, there's no need to try to pull the wool over our eyes with some lame excuse about "a party" - we know they're really for your own use!
Cheers, Pewe

Mr Whippy

I like it shoes off but the dogs do as they please.

Same here shoes off.

Traction was a problem for our greyhounds on the wooden floor, but they have now learnt to put the power down gently.

Perhaps someone can find some rubber claw covers.

Dog Shoes! Somewhere in there are dog shoes to stop them scratching wooden floors!

I know this one. It makes me very happy when my 2 year old drags me into the kitchen to push cars up and down to each other.

Loves 'helping' in the garage too.

Not a clue where you'd get them.
The paint that cobblers use to paint heels black is very good for doing the back of your GRP seats though.

...is the usual sight when I get home.

Watching a Jack Russell trying to change direction, at full speed, on a laminate floor is one of lifes true pleasures
