got a poll going on what to do engine/
drive wise but to be honest i reckon its gonna be rear (bike)engined rear wheel drive a la Z cars ( or maybe home done and cheaper)
as for the price errrr £0. was it worth it???
been stood 10 years or so since the engine siezed is pretty solid , ( for a mini anyway)
just gotta love the 70's brown interior

that is a great price to pay, i would like one at that price.![]()
about the z car conversion but homemade, have you got any infomation about doing yourself(homemade) project. as i want to do one for a project but z cars ar expensive.

If you are unsure about how to go about converting the mini take a look at the book 'How to build a motorcycle-engined racing car'. Very good info on suspension design and setup which can be applied to any car.
ive gone for de dion and five link in mine and it works fine, ive still got the jig to build a de dion its adjustable for track and you can set it up
for camber and toe too if you need a lend

Is that layshaft about 30mm? and the flange bearings mounted to 12mm plate?

I am ditching the locost build and now doing a Mini Build too. Except I am going to make it front engine rear wheel drive Mac1 Stylee
I will put a
6pt cage in it and then cut a tunnel down the middle for a prop and put a Sierra diff in it running on Indispension

Only kidding if you send me all bits you don't need for my collection of late 70s early 80s Minis 
the de dion is mine as i built it with a single engine but all the fab work is martin keenans at mk engineering who did the twin engine conversion for
me
very nice bit of work, just out of interest, when running chain drive on a car, how do you lubricate the chains? I run bikes and the oiling makes lots of mess.....
MK did a Mini a few years back that looked great and looked simpler to home fabricate than the Z-cars driven trailing arm setup, there was a good set
of pictures online, they made replacement "sills" in a fairly beefy sheet-stock, sheeted the bottom in aluminum and welded the cage to the
top of the beefy sheet sills, added a bit of tube structure at the back to hang double a-arms and a chain diff off -- trimmed away the floor from the
firewall back to the bootlid along with most of the sills and the shell dropped onto the tube structure and affixed the new sills to the vestigial
bits of original sill left behind.
