A man lives on the 12th floor. He gets up in the morning, takes the lift to the ground floor and goes to work. In the evening he returns from work, gets in the lift. Gets out on the 8th floor and walks up the remaining 4 floors to his flat on the 12th floor. Why doesn't he take the lift to the 12th floor?

he is frodo baggins brother and the short arse can't reach the 12th floor button, UNLESS, frodo is with him and then he and can give him a bunk! . OR the dwarf new that he couldn't reach the 12th button so takes a stick of a branch on his way home from work so that he can then reach the button using a stick!
