Can I Use The Angry Grinder?
mistergrumpy - 25/12/08 at 11:44 AM

Whaddya think? Can I use the angry grinder today without upsetting the neighbours?

seems unlikely!

If I can't use it, then neither can you.

As per previous post, my head is full of exhaust manifolds right now and I just want to get on with it.

I think Saturday is my first day allowable to be honest. Will be looking for a productive day though.

I had the family from hell start their party at 10pm last night and it was still raging at 4am when I went to work this morning.
They live 3 doors down, but that didn't stop the base from moving my whole house!
Apart from no sleep, I had a row with them at 3.50am as one of their "guests" decided to park across my garage which clearly has a sign saying " No parking 24hr access required".
So in the spirit of Christmas (and now they are in bed) you are welcome to go around to my house and make as much noise as you like.

Apart from checking carefully with SWMBO whether Garage points are valid on Christmas Day, you're probably OK as the noise of the ginder would be reaonable response to Christmas CDs being played on repeat the whole day long

business as usual buddy, GO FOR IT!

NITRAM38: Stand outside your neighbours house in the early hours bashing a sausepan as loud as possible and say that you are practicing for a steel band,if they come out and start yelling, just say, "oh im sorry is this disturbing you, sorry for the disturbance, you should be finished in a couple of hours!"

Depends where you are, we're in a semi with a detached garage and about 20yrds and some hedges till the next, so i would have not issues with that.

Otherwise if its ajoining i would say your good for quick blips to dice up some metal to carry on with a job, etc. But would be hestitant to have it running for three hours of part fettling and weld preping etc.

Depends if you like the buggers or not too really...

I've been thinking about fettling the manifold flanges I flame-cut at work (while the boss was not looking) , but I've been painting my cam covers instead (so just the compressor to annoy the neighbours )
I do have a sump to chop later , cant just sit around in front of the box even if it is christmas.................

'Fuck em'. Crack on. Its not festive to be quiet, its festive for them to leave you alone...

Based on Nitram38's experiences, and if i were him, i would move the garage to outside their front door, and try and tune the engine with no headers on for a couple of hours, from about 8am onwards when the hangovers would be at their peak. Maybe with a bit of plastic over a peice of hot metal just to add to their nauseousness....

best way to get them back it to burn horse poo in the back garden. the smell coupled with a hangover will finish them off very quickly.

and yes i do have way too much time on my hands.
