no experience of claims but make sure you ring around.

I was with Prudential for 8 years and got lazy so let it run. Made some calls last year and got same policy features for a hell of a lot less - but cannot recall who it is with.

Rang prudential to cancel and they offered to match but I said NO!

My fault for not doing the homework but just shows that the compaines will try to screw money out of you if you let them!

I'm with Halifax and they've been very good. Only ever made one claim on this policy for emergency assistance (stupid place to put a high pressure water feed - above a radiator...madness) and service was good. As I had the extra emergency assistance cover (a few extra quid a month?) there wasn't any excess to pay at all, it's not even counted as a claim in fact.

I pay about £24 a month I think? Contents, building and this extra emergency assistance job.

I got a good deal with Sheilas Wheels for home insurance.

I know, weird. You don't have to be a girl for it either.

Much cheaper than the nearest price.

Have you tried the various comparison websites. You can usually save a few quid. Usual suspects;

Confused.com
Comparethemarket.com
Moneysupermarket.com
Onlyinsurance.com

Find the cheapest and then haggle.....

had a look at a site that gives plenty quotes,the thing that bothers me is "you only get what you pay for",i can afford to scrap a car if the insurers worm out in event of a claim,my house is a different matter tho....looks like ill be reading small print in the morning

I phoned arround when insurance was due, new quote probably over £200 less for better cover. When I told prevoius company I was not going to renew thay said thay would match the quote.
As 02GF74 said above my comment was the same as his "S*d Off".
