how far down you wanna go ? english riviera  (devon) paignton, torquay is nice or down by me(cornwall) is looe, polperro, mevagissy and north coast the outskirts of newquay polzeath etc.all nice places or st ives if you want to go right down. . my choice and im biased then looe is good as i grew up there hope that helps.

devon/dorset area, got slung out of st ives during my hippy daze so dont want to go back there really.
as long as its on the coast, some woods would be nice for walking my hound as well

When my old Dobermann was alive we had a book which IIRC was called Pets Welcome listing holiday accommodation for guests with pets. Might be worth a look?

Not sure about dogs, but Ruda park in Croyde bay is really nice.
