What a waste of an eve!!
Was going to get the engine running a bit better tonight only to find that the battery is flat ish GRRRR
Not a good start.
So i stick it on charge
And then with enough charge i give it a turn over and get a bang out of the carb(had the filter on so no flame) just some horid smelling smoke
so then i go and get the fire extinguisher just in case.
Get it running a bit better and am checking the gauges and i have good oil pressure, temp is working but i have no revs, slightly confused.
Then i try and get the dash out and get one of my fingers stuck inbetween the dash and the fibreglass(ouch) so i can check the wires only to find that it appears that SBD had put 2 wires in the multi pin connector the wrong way round so i hope its going to be as easy as changing a wire over.
Why cant people just do things correctly, then i would be happy and not have a wasted eve

I hope tomorrow eve is better.

what 2 wires did they put the wrong way round?

Sounds odd that it fired if they did, unless it was the crank sensor wires pair, in which case the way roudn depends on the sensor type and for example Bosch do several types not all of which use the same pinouts!!
