OT - wanted Soldering iron Wizzard

I have broken the usb ( pins in the connector - not connector to motherboard) on my htc phone the phone it is a brick without it

I have a replacement conector on the way but its beyond my soldering skills anyone know someone arround Bradford /Leeds/ Harrogate that could do this for me ( or I can bag up and post ).

It all apart ( i can do that bit ) :-

remember to use a heat sink phones melt fast,im in glasgow im x granada tv rental repair man if i was closer i would have fixed it ,any tv engineer will be able to do it.

Problem with that is the pads are so small. Too much heat and the pads will lift off of the PCB and then it is FUBAR.

Best get someone to do it properly...than try yourself

Agreed. I'v been soldering for over 40 years (both at work and as a Radio Ham).
I might try it if it was mine, as already said, too easy to make it FUBAR.

That was probably soldered in a flow machine on a production line.
You may get away with very very careful application of a hot air gun.
This is how a lot of Surface mount chips are done these days.

I would have it done professionally.

Thanks chaps didnt think about TV repair shop ( there is one in the next village ).

I have done a rj 45 to pcb at work (emergency get us out of the Sh!t job ) but that was positivly huge compared to this.

If you can't find anyone closer I'd be happy to do it, I have full SM rework tools at work. However, I'm very much the other end of the country.
