Looking at various options for a power shower - currently got an Aquadart Hydroflo venturi shower which quite frankly is c*ap!

or anything similar. They apparantly have to be fed from a cold tank rather than mains - presumably I can pick this up from where the cold feed goes into the hot tank? & do they need the hot to come direct from the tank as a separate feed rather than just picking up from an existing hot tap supply as the current venturi shower does. I assume these have a low voltage pump & transformer or do they need a feed from the fuse box like a power shower with a separate pump?

I have a Mira Event Just about knock you off your feet on full power, needs a seperate cold tank, and a dedicated feed off the hot tank to prevent hot or cold surges.

They need a normal power supply which can come off the ring main, not a high current individual supply. They should have a separate hot supply direct from the tank using a Surrey, Warix or Essex flange. These draw water from a bit below the top to prevent water and air being sucked back down the expansion pipe. Having said that, I installed mine and decided to try it on the normal feed and it works fine. Mind you, there are only 2 of us using it and we never have another hot tap on when the shower is in use.

It's usually easiest to run the supply pipes across the loft so take the cold supply from the hot supply pipe just below where it comes out of the cold tank.

The different flanges fit in the existing hot water outlet at the top of the hot tank, and take the shower water from the bottom of the tube. Normal hot water goes from the top. The difference in flanges is which way each flow is routed eg shower vertical and hot water sideways or vice versa. Surrey shower flow comes out sideways, Warix comes out vertically. Essex flange goes in a new hole in the side of the tank.
