I had to collect a zetec engine which I'd won off ebay. I was unable to collect it whilst working down in london so I had to sort out a roadtrip
over the weekend. Seemed a bit of a waste to go all that way and not have an explore around the hampshire area, so I visited the National Motor Museum
at Bealieu
some awesome cars/bikes/other stuff there
looks a nice place!
I haven't been there since the kids were little (they're both over 30 now!) - it was a good day out even then.
Must get round to re-visiting...
I loved my trip there 2 years ago, did they still ahve the supercars there F40, Veyron etc?
The wife looked as if she had a good time too
still an f40 there but no veyron... there's an enzo, an original shelby cobra, gt40 in duck egg blue and orange, a lotus 49 which I was totally
blown away by.
The missus rolled hey eyes when I first mentioned there was a national motor museum nearby, but when we got there she was totally impressed with all
the different cars. She even listened attentively when I explained about the Ford Model T lol
oh and a massive massive thank you to the guy who did the tour with us - Roger Cooper from the museum. I mentioned that we were only in the area
because I was collecting the engine so we got talking about that. He was very informative and keen to answer any questions we had, then at the end of
the tour he said "I've got a few special bits to show you" & took me and the missus over the ropes to get up close to some of the
cars, and even lifted the bonnet of a few of them
Proper nice fella
just down the road from me - haven't been for a few yars mind.
They have a massive autojumble there which is a great day out just poking around in the back of peoples vans and chatting to beardy men with suede
elbow patches
Should have posted your intended visit Paul....I am writing this from my office at Beaulieu! shhhhhh
Beaulieu is a 5 min drive from me. Glad you had a good day there
Cant believe you drag your missus around a vehicle museum and shes smiling!
Went about 20 years ago and one of the men who helped build and run the Bluebird car was taking panels off it and explaining it to the staff
there,very interesting.
Sympa, jolies photos, merci
