757 vertical climb

after the fighter jet coming out of the ocean post i did a bit of clicking and found this, could this be a spoof, looks pretty real to me.

Probably not. Although the airframe isn't capable of fighter-esque manouverability, they can do some impressive stuff when there are no passengers on board...

I was at the Farnborough airshow this last year and they were showing off the new A380. When they got it up into the air, they were doing steep climbs, sharp turns and all sorts.

I doubt that the vertical climb would have lasted very long - I can't imagine that the engines produce anywhere near enough thrust to accelerate vertically, even without cargo/passengers.

well at that rate he's going to end up having to do a stall turn as if! or roll it onto its back for a loop

that ain't going to happen in an airliner

Imop its a total fake and I think the jets been added over an old warbird doing some manovers probably a mustang

The thing is the video cuts shortly after the climb begins - I agree stall-turns and loops are unlikely in airliners, but I think that thing had enough momentum at the end of the clip to be able to pull out of that climb, even if it would be nearly stalling as it did so. I'll try to find a vid of the A380 stuff I mentioned when I get home - at work at the moment, not meant to be on youtube... or forums for that matter.... :p

so they film the plane flying by...but don't show it doing a stall turn or a loop?! now thats bad editing
