Have you not access to a car somewhere?

I used to take my Mums car to bits to learn about how it all worked.

as in - "I think your cylinder head needs a decoke mum - give me some money and I'll do it for you thereby saving you money at a garage."

Then spend the weekend stripping it down, cleaning it up and putting it back together. use the money for gaskets and consumables

(hope she doesn't drive a ferrari or something )

it should be fairly easy to find one, but you might need to take it out of a scrap car

I got 3 for free that way (from next door), but they are already in bits - sorry
