lol hmm, they are quite strange. though i don't really see how they're any improvment really. airless. great. air's free anyway. its everywhere

Things like that have been around for a very long time for lift trucks, airport baggage handling tugs and the like.
The tyres in the pictures appear to be simply a convention tyre tread fitted over an normal airless tyre.
I would take the news they are being developed for road use with a large pinch of NaCl

First seen in the Automotive press several years ago. Rather unauthodox but why not. Interesting idea.

I've got some airless tyres in my garage, but I tend to call them"flat"
