Afternoon All,
I am tearing my hair out with this one. My dad has a 40" Samsung LCD tv with an HDMI input. He bought the new Freesat+ HD Humax box prior to
Christmas.
All went well and he has been watching it til last week through the HDMI connection. Then he rang to say could I return the Humax as all he could get
was a green screen! Took it back to Currys, the lad checked it and it worked fine on Scart and on HDMI. So packed it up and brought it back.
Still no luck, searched google and lots of people seem to have the same bother with HDMI connections although no real solution. I have reset the
HUMAX, reset the telly etc. etc.
I have not tried another HDMI lead so that is next but does anyone have any ideas? It works fine however through the scart.
Thanks,
Steve

Just a thought, but a lot of freview/HDD boxes will automatically receive firmware updates via broadcast. I had an issue with my Thompson HDD box when it updated the firmware and then refused to record 2 channels at the same time. IIRC there was a "return to factory default" type option which resolved the issue. The box has since received further firmware updates OK.
In the digital (TV) world a fully green screen is the same as a fully black screen in the analogue world. This usually happens when timing
information is getting through but not data.
My advice would be to confirm that the HDMI cable, and the HDMI port on the back of the TV, work with another device.

Speak to Humax - I've dealt with them via their email address b4 & found them both helpful & supportive
Howler - Try HDMI 2 and not 1. My Samsung (also 40" LCD) has a similar "feature" if my PC is connected via 1. Fine on 2.
Took me ages to figure out!
Worth a try anyway!
