build your own sledge for £25
and slide it

Its not released yet but I've heard it loosely based around a land rover painted roof.

Enough room for 4 passengers.

Some years ago I built my own sledge for £0:

Runners: 1 pair of old skis, cut off to about 3' in length

Seat: 1 slatted wooden shelf from a dismantled set of shelves

Sides: 2 pieces of wood (c. 1" x 6" x 2'6" ) from an old fashioned real wood kitchen cupboard

Fixings: screws from a pot in the garage + a bit of nylon rope

Job's a good'un

The lid off your wheelie bin makes a canny sledge as do road signs and those skinny plastic barriers the gas board put round holes

I've got about 200 of those round my house at the moment

In there wisdom, they have decided the best time to replace all the mains gas pipe is January/February
