Anyone living around Exeter/Plymouth info please!
russbost - 6/2/09 at 07:11 PM

I have to travel to Plymouth early tomorrow (from Essex) I know the A38 was really bad this morning, but can't find much info now - there seem to be conflicting reports some saying road clear some saying still fairly major probs! Can anyone living down that way please confirm or deny - it's a long way to go just to sit in a 4 hour traffic jam!
Ta!

Wont be held resposible... BUT its seems to be clear at the moment. The a38 junction was re opened however with the ice tonight telegraph hill could be nasty depending on gritting!

i live in paignton been driving around newton abbot /torquay area all day, the roads started off slushy but passable now they're all clear but it is starting to freeze, watching the local weather/traffic report it looked like haldon hill was clear but that could change if it all freezes overnite trouble is they tend to shut the roads as soon as a snowflake appears

Hi,

Came down from North Devon to home(exeter) at about 2.30 this afternoon, Motorway(M5) just about had two lanes each way, but as others have said its starting to freeze now. Haldon hill is where the M5 goes to the A38, 200 people were rescued there last night after they got stuck, can't see that it would have been completely clear before the freeze sets in.
P.S. just been out to the car and the snow left on the pavements is frozen and lethal
