Where do you keep yours?

I want another, more interesting car to take to college when the weather gets a bit nicer but i dont have anywhere for it as our driveway is full up.
May be a stupid question but is renting a garage the only option? They are going for around £20pw here.

Have a word with some local farmers (if you have any)

On site security, power water and LOADS more space than a garage

as above, i have been doing this for a year but my situation isnt 100% ideal as i have to ring him to come and open up when i wanna use the car which means i dont get to just go for a spin, i have to plan it all. So ive just started renting a garage, if you are planning on keeping the car for a year or so, a landlord should be happy to do a year contract on the garage for a reduced monthly rate.

To be honest it does not work really well, I have tried but in the end you have a car that is taxed, MOT'ed and insured that gets little use.

Better to buy the car you want and enjoy it every day.

I have the space, even the little car may miss out on insurance, MOT and tax this year as the cost is two or three full track days. If I go for a drive its just not the same as thrashing around the track where you really appreciate what you have constructed.

The only time I believe this does not apply is if you want a 'keeper', for me that would have meant keeping my immaculate face lift 4.0s manual XJS, but I wanted a 928S4 so it had to go, then I wanted something else.... so now back to two cars and a bike (which rarely gets ridden after watching my mate fall off).

If you want to rent a container on a farm, you keep the keys and get use of the very large workshop at weekends if the ramps are free then I could put you in touch with someone in Robertsbridge. Probally £20 per week.

Are there any garages in your street that are unused? A friendly neighbour might let you use theirs, if it isn't attached to the house.

My next door neighbour has a garage at the bottom of her garden. She's in her eighties and can't get down to the garage so she lets me use it for free.

A council garage round here is about £7 a week.

But no power/lighting (in mine anyway) and you're banned from doing major works (again, that's a local rule).

But it does give you somewhere to stick the car!

Basically yeah
I cant imagine any of our neigbours are going to let me use theirs. Most of them are pretty annoyed about the noise i make building the locost
Il try the council (didnt think of that). It will only be for the astra anyway.

Ive been looking into this as well speedy as the car is currently being built in my parents garage as I dont have one at my house.

When its finished id like to move it over to Nottingham though, but really need to find somewhere to put it! let me know how you get on with the council...there arent many farms in the city

Mine is currently in a farm shed (benefits of marrying a farmers daughter!). Bit inconvenient though as I have to walk over 100 yards to get from my back door to the shed!
