Valentines day ideas
Mr Whippy - 9/2/09 at 10:37 AM

Almost a tradition with me doing this kind of post

So for those who give a sh$t… any novel ideas or gifts for that person who seems to get more money spent on her than all the cars put together

Though tbh I know she’s organised some sort of secret weekend away together somewhere for next weekend

So I’d better do something special myself or I’m sure they’ll be an axe sticking out the bluebirds roof

Get yourself a full body wax..... or not

BenB - 9/2/09 at 10:46 AM

By all accounts (accouding to SWMBO) the best Valentines day thing I ever did was bake her an organic chocolate cake (cost an arm and a leg on the ingredients cos the whole lot was organic produce). If there's one thing women like, it's their blokes slaving away in the kitchen for 'em.... Which is strange cos previous years I'd gone for the whole flowers, cards, wine, dine etc etc approach.......

A card.

Job done.

balidey - 9/2/09 at 10:51 AM

Does she need any of the following?

Spanners, sockets, welding mask, grinder, bench drill, power washer, shotblasting cabinet, parts washer, wheels, tyres, etc etc etc

liam.mccaffrey - 9/2/09 at 10:52 AM

We had such a bad day last year we have mutually decided to not celebrate in any way.

yikes scared to ask about that...

as for the chocolate cake, hmm quite a good idea that, me being ace baker too

body wax...ehem that sounds painful and I doubt she'd be remotely impressed

hardly needed tbh plus mines got 3 times the chest

I'm afraid I refuse to submit to yet another "Clintons Day" in the calender. Sames as Mothers day and Fathers day IMHO - all commercially good ideas to pick-up trade when it's seasonally slack

(fortunately for me this is a sentiment shared)

Cooking a good meal once in a while goes a long way in our house.

I might loosen the chain a little.........

Cheers

Chris

What about some roses with a bit charley sprinked on them, or some chocolates impregnated with cyanide??

James - 9/2/09 at 12:36 PM

Beauty treatment day at local health clinic maybe?

Alternatively,
I gather all women love a set of PVC crotchless knickers and peep-hole bra!

Cheers,
James

done & done

both worked very well

Danozeman - 9/2/09 at 12:55 PM

I said to mine last night.

" what are we doing for valentines day? Just getting a card? Good sounds good to me."

She seemed happy with that.

So a card it is and maybe tesco's for flowers.

trikerneil - 9/2/09 at 12:58 PM

About 5 years ago I gave my other half a Valentine's potato (well it was vaguely heart shaped).

She photocopied it and laminated the result.

It's still tucked in the corner of the bedroom mirror - so she must have been impressed.

Women! I'll never understand what makes them tick.

HTH

Surely that answer was like the "I'm fine" one - not remotely near true?

How about a promise not to log onto Locostbuilders for the day

That's got to show commitment and devotion (for some more than others admittedly).

Never promise the impossible

Coose - 9/2/09 at 04:15 PM

I'm getting Mrs Coose the ultimate present - having me away for the day at a bike trackday at Cadwell!

trogdor - 9/2/09 at 05:06 PM

I think we are cooking a really nice meal this year, will probably get a card too tho.

Its our first fake wedding anniversary at the end of the month tho so need to do something good for that!

Jon Ison - 9/2/09 at 06:27 PM

Well I think I'm gonna change the oil and filter, if the weathers any good may take her out for a spin.

rusty nuts - 9/2/09 at 07:59 PM

Diamonds are a girls best friend ? Not getting my missus any though.
