Hi Chaps

I am budgeting for converting a grass area to hard standing, well gravel area but I have no idea what the average per ton price is for MOT and gravel?

Does anyone know roughly, so I can budget?

Ta!

I did the same job end of last year, made a caravan parking area on a corner of the garden,I got some 20mm gravel/stones from Travis Perkins 4 ton cost me £180 including delivery in 1 ton bags, I was suprised how much I required for a area of 8m x 4m its about 50/60mm deep

Back in the summer we made a sand school for the horse and paid roughly £150 for a 30tonne lorry load (20T of MOT1) but we had 80T in all so got it a bit cheaper. Its best to ring around locally as that was our cheapest quote but they went upto about £15-20 per Tonne.

If you want a largish amount it is much cheaper to buy it directly from thr quarry.
Some years ago I had several lorry loads delivered from the quarry in Wales, about 60 miles away.

Bulk load 15T+ type 1 will be in the region of £14/T
Decorative gravel from £47/T to £200/T
Self binding gravel (dust - 6mm) from £80/T

1T is approx .5m3

As Mal says above, local quarry or is there any road resurfacing nearby ? Stop and ask if you can get some road planings.
