Croft has been in the news because of neihbours complaining about the trackday noise, they won even though they moved in long after the circuit had been in operation.

Croft has had to settle a huge compo and expenses bill.

Because of the judges ruling tons of other circuits around the country could be judged against.

Good sentiment but very poor explanation to the casual reader. The facts are simple anyone can now claim that their quality of life has been damaged by living near a noisey activity like motor racing circuits and seek compensation, even if they moved into the area where a circuit exsists.
There was a similar petition which got a lot of signaturies and the response from the goverment was basically under the enviroment act any activity that caused nusiance even if it had been there for ever could not overide the local enviromental nosie issue and meant that the people could pursue the issue.

Sure i told this story a while ago.

Friend almost bought this lovely picturesque house in the middle of the countryside. they wanted somewhere quiet for her partners art business.

When i found out I told them to get a second viewing on the x, y, z of the month. Strangely the woman selling couldn't make those days. I told her to go anyway.

They didn't buy. House was right next to mallory park so on certain days not very quiet at all. Woman selling was trying to pull a fast one, they where rather grateful.
