MOT failure?
liam.mccaffrey - 16/2/09 at 11:11 AM

I have a 4" long crack in the rear windscreen of the tintop. How am I set for MOT with that.

If its an automatic fail I'm probably gonna scrap the car

rear windscreen...back window?

that should be toughened glass so a 4 inch crack would be imposable surely?

I don't think the back screen is part of the MOT unless the tester thinks it dangerous.

Cheers

Chris

I'd have thought so too. Should shatter not crack.

if possible depending on the shape, just replace it with Perspex and remove any wipers

Pop in and ask at an MoT test station whether they'd fail it or not.

Take it out, if its not there they can't test it.

Same goes for the front, takes the wipers and washers out the test also.
