Anyway, I like it and more importantly so do you Pete and that's all that matters.

focijohn - 20/2/09 at 06:28 PM

Very nice, i'd love an L200 or Disco TD5 shape with a 300 TDI engine...

jimmyjoebob - 20/2/09 at 06:54 PM

Please tell me the picture isn't the most off-road it will ever do!

r1_pete - 20/2/09 at 08:02 PM

Thanks chaps, just a fun vehicle really, I know some hate them some love them, same as anything non mainstream.

Done about 500 miles in it and I still cant help grinning while driving it.

Me too, the Warrior isn't my favourite, that's the Navara, but I certainly wouldn't turn my nose up at one. I wouldn't have a black one though

fesycresy - 20/2/09 at 09:04 PM

And the tax man doesn't rape your arse if you have it as a company vehicle

We have had both navaras and L200's as fleet vehicles at work. The nissans were much nicer.

The americans do pickups sooooooo much better though. My F250 was awesome and then some, but even that didn't come anywhere near my buddies 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 Crew Cab, it was the best vehicle Ive been in by far. His Ford Ranger wasn't bad either

zilspeed - 20/2/09 at 10:22 PM

We had been in America maybe ten minutes when I realised how weel they do pickups.

At a stop light, a bloke pullled up next to use in an F350 Dually.

Now that's a truck.

We'll leave JoelP's F650 super duty out of it I think.

mmmmmmm....not sure anymore see below

The current company car tax rate for commercial vans and pick ups, simply means that you have to pay tax on £3000 for this private use. (It used to be just on £500). You don't have to actually pay £3,000, just the tax on it. If you pay tax at the standard rate of 22%, then you will have an annual tax bill of £660.00 which covers your private use. If you pay tax at 40%, then your additional tax bill will be £1200 pa.

Oh! There is another little matter. If your company pays for/provides the fuel, then you have to stump up a further £200.

One way around this - if you own the company - is that you can privately own the car (VAN!) and charge your company at 40P per mile - up to the first 10,000 miles in any one year. (So that's £4,000 (tax free) that you can claim - providing you do the mileage of course!) After that first 10,000 miles per annum, your mileage rate drops to 25p per mile!

If you are self employed, then non of the mileage allowance is applicable is applicable

I have a P100 pickup thats getting the hot rod treatment. We are dropping the whole machine onto a xr4 base with xr 4 plastics and a cossy 24 v boa or bob.

It will wear 17" inch tiger sport wheels and have fairly low profile black rings.

Ive had pickups all my working life in SA and only got vans when we came back to these shores. I love retro wheels and love it when the scrapper says thats a rare one.

Pickups are great fun......just you guys took a long time to find that out
