Jaguar XJ40 4.0 1990 engine warning light
stevec - 22/2/09 at 09:55 AM

What does the engine management warning light look like on a Jaguar XJ40 1990 model year, I have no handbook for it. I suspect it is the one that looks like a zigzag/ lightning sign.
PS does anyone have a owners handbook to sell.
Cheers.
Steve.

Is it The later model dash or the earlier (tokyo by night) dash?

The later model (two big dials and 4 little ones round the outside) just has a light saying 'check engine'.

It is the later non tokyo type, the light that is on is a red zig zag on the left bank of lights.
I thought it may be the alternator one, but I have checked the charging rate and it is about 14 volts which is ok.

Something like (not sure) jaglovers.com is what you need. All sorts of downloadable info and well as a forum, have you sorted in no time
