just thought id'e share this, traveling on M42 today through road works coverd by cams that where flash happy btw, i noticed a sign, "caught to date" "10700" and these are new cam's that aint been there more than a month, serious money or wot ??

yea, but do the maths on that, and when i say a month thats all they been there for, new stretch near M6 toll....

I think that must be a cumulative count for quite a long section of motorway. They've had cameras installed way down by the M40/M42 junction for a while too and they show a similar count there. Those roadworks are installing gantry signs and the workforce is directly adjacent to the traffic, with no hard shoulder.

50mph limit on that section of roadworks is not unreasonable IMO, given the risk to the workers.

i quite agree dave, 50mph is entirely acceptable when people are working in the road, i certainly would appreciate it if i was working there. Always makes me laugh people who stick to 80 on the open road and then tram thru road works without slowing down, cos the cameras are always near the roadworks and rightly so too... if you're in a hurry, save time on the clear road not thru the roadworks.

135 was only for a short distance on the A42 where it turns off the M1, wouldnt condone it of course, twas but a momentary laspe of self control!
