Just Had a Visit From TV License Inspectors!
scootz - 24/2/09 at 06:50 PM

Following on from my ramblings some weeks ago about TV Licensing (THEAD), I received a visit tonight from 2 inspectors!

Mr Whippy beware!

we got them all the time in student halls, but the cleaners used to warn us when they were coming.

Did they go away happy?

Just read that other thread... my boss rented out his forecourt for a bloke selling cars. He had a small TV in there and my boss still to this day get letters saying this man (who has been dead for 5 years) has to pay for a TV licence. What do they want a death cert and a picture of his grave??
A bit like the case with that poor woman and the DVLA and dead son that was bought up on here not so long ago.

They were simply enchanted when they left!

I grunted that the house was empty (renovating) and that my wife holds the license for the house. Can't say much more really!

Many years ago I used to get a letter telling me that I didn't have a TV license for 15, S******d Street and that legal proceedings would be taken against me. I wrote explaining that I didn't have a license for number 15 as I lived at number 19 and that the letter was delivered to me at number 19. They wrote back telling me to ignore the warning and it would be rectified. I got one every month for over a year and was a bit done when they stopped sending them

We never got any in first year.
- Lots of letters, usally address to previous students, often foreign. Who had obvisouly once actaully bought a licence.

I never had a TV, but i never heard of any inspectors actaully coming round.

Lukcy you!!

I had them visit once. Agressive b*ggers or wat. Open door, barge in so that yoiu cannot close the door on them, thought I was gonna get attacked.

"Quick, Vyvian, eat the telly!!"

that would be a very bad move in my house, as the dogs will attack them

my dads old dog Curt a huge SOAB boxer, took 3 people to get it off a (already known to the dog) friend who had jumped the back fence to take a sort cut in.

That would be a very bad move in my house too, as I would attack them! TV License Inspectors without a warrant... GTF! They wouldn't get past my doorstep!
