Ebay- patience....

So if an ebay seller sends the wrong thing how long do you give between e-mailing them and making it all official with Ebay.....

I recently bought a hose connector from Auto-performance. Only trouble is they appear to think 1 3/32 is 1/18 (ie 27.5mm is 28.5mm) so it leaked like a bloody sieve. So I ordered a 30mm beaded 70mm long hose connector from a different vendor (Mr Silicon)- except it came in an auto-performance package so it appears that they're the same. Great. And it was a 32mm un-beaded 102mm long connector. So it doesn't fit either.... So I've contacted them with a message which basically says

"Samco hoses are 28.5mm ID can you £$%£$%ing send me a hose connector which will connect two bits of 28.5mm hose or is that asking too much"

How long do you reckon I should give 'em before going down the neg feedback and refund via Ebay route.

Also, is it possible to get a refund after leaving +Ve feedback. I stupidly left +ve feedback when the first connectors arrived (and before I'd measured them with vernier calipers). Now I kind of regret doing that for two useless bits of under-size tubing!!!

All in I've given Auto performance / Mr Silicon about £20 for useless lengths of random tubing

If they won't respond within a couple of days of you asking, then raise a dispute with paypal - that will get their attention. You can always close the dispute if you get satisfaction.

did you really use abusive language in your e-mail to them, if you did they probably think your a bit or a c**t and they are ignoring you. just raise a dispute with paypal on both items claiming that they are as intelligent as a peanut teasing a monkey!

If you want someone to respond best not to use swear words or be rude. People dont bother replying then u have to wait ages for paypal to return money... if they dont screw u over first

No course I didn't swear

What I said was

"Without wanting to sound frustrated do you actually have a joiner that will join 28mm (1 1/8" ) Samco pipework?"

Maybe a bit snide but for gods sake how difficult is it? It's not like I'm trying I'm using some wierd type of hose here- it's Samco 28mm to Samco 28mm. Is it really that much to ask to give them some money and get something in return to do the job? Okay perhaps I was being a bit clever asking for a 30mm on the basis that it might also be a bit too small and actually fit the 28.5mm tube but it sure as hell ain't 32mm!!!!! And what happened to the flanging (even if a flanged 32mm would be even worse!!)...

I've bought some 28mm copper tube and some 28mm olives. I'll solder them on and DIY.....

And, you said it yourself - don't be too quick on positive feedback - I did exactly the same thing - I received an item very quickly and it appeared to be exactly as described so let glowing positive feedback. When I tried to fit it, it was actually wrong and could not be used. I opened a dispute with ebay as seller refused a refund. It was rejected as I had given feedback saying the item was as described - foolish me.

I had my first unsatisfactory transaction after several years with ebay and rang them. They were very good and gave me a £20 voucher for my "bad experiance"

Whether you sort it or not, give ebay a call. Its a landline number so if you get free evening and weekend calls it wont cost you a penny.
