I've just been sent home from work on full pay cos we've had a power cut and apparently they need to evacuate as the reserve power isn't enough to cover health and safety requirments.

Years ago my office block got sent home cos the boiler failed to start as they use to switch it off over the weekend to save money. There were about 150 folk on each of 5 floors that all had to be sent home, on full pay for two days while the fixed it. It was never switched off after that

You lucky bugger, one of my old places kept us sitting in the canteen for 6 hours wouldnt even let me go out with the breakdown man to keep busy !!!!

Tea was made with a quarter inch plate and ocy'cetlene that day
