Pdlewis - 3/3/09 at 10:22 AM

Hi,

Got a bonus from work ages ago which has to be aken as a group activity (not impressed with this) anyway we have a budget of £250 pp and have been looking at driving days but they all seem to contain about 20 mins of driving. can anyone recomend any good ones or any other activities?

Cheers

Go to Diggerland. It's a great laugh.

Or go Karting. Any money left over can be spent on drink.

There are only 3 of us is the other thing

(digger land could be fun as i have my ticket to drive upto a 13 ton track machine )

For £250 each, you might just be able to do a bookatrack track day, and hire one of their c*terhams (iirc the car hire is about 400, and the day is 150 - 200 depending on the track and day of the week).

Cheers

Silverstone do a good day driving saloons, karts, single seaters, skid-pan, autotest and passenger ride in a Caterham race car - did it for me.
Palmer at Bedford Autodrome offer some amazing days but tend not to be cheap.
Alternatively Silverstone Rally School - spending a day hurling a rally car around their course is interesting, especially if there's a group of you.

Me and some mates did a Elise experience at the Lotus Factory - it was only £100 and for that you got a Factory Tour, 20 minutes being encouraged to trash an Elise round their test track, and 3 laps with the instructor driving.

Me and a friend had it paid for us by our girlfriends for our 21st! Awsome fun!

As Vince says this without a shadow of a doubt - excellent value, good cars and the bookatrack days are always well run.

NTDWM by the way, just a happy customer.

Orrrrr...

hire your car back to yourself for £400 (that will pay for insurance plus some cash) and use the remainder to buy a open pit track day with 3 driver.

Not only do you get a free track day in your car, but you get some money in your back pocket to pay for the priveldge - and tons more track time than you'd get with anything else.
