Hi All

I need help!

I currently have a work Blackberry (on Vodaphone which doesn't work at home) and a mobile phone (on Orange which is the only network that works at home) which has Enhanced Line 2, meaning I can split my calls and texts from the work number, but I get hammerred on this every month as Orange don't do a package on Line 2.

What I'm looking for is one device that can do everything - it has to be on Orange so an iPhone is out of the question. I'm a habitual texter and will go on a monthly contract.

Our comms people aren't too keen on the pull technology and prefer the push of a blackberry device, but this is hopeless for me as it doesn't work at home!

I'm also a Nokia fan and getting too old to learn new stuff although the HTC Touch device looks pretty good.

Any thoughts (and before somebody suggests it I'm not moving house!!!))

Nokia E71 Nokias version of the blackberry - but better

2nd vote for the E71, only had mine a month or so but it rocks. Only slight issue is typing if you have big sausage fingers (like me!)

Samsung omnia every time for me. It's windows based too so you can add any software you like (tomtom!).

Cheaper is the nokia 5800, not as big so fiddlier to use but more easily pocketable. It's not windows so additional sofware is more limited and more expensive (there's a lot of freeware for windows mobile about) and you have to pay more for software to use the GPS.

I second the Samsung Omnia, Loads of software for it. Think it is 16g onboard memory on orange. Rumours of Google Android being ported to it also.

Can't you just get the Blackberry on Orange?

I know some of ours are on Orange.

I have an O2 stellar which also is windows mobile based. Has a sliding/tilting screen with a full keyboard underneath, though the keys are a bit small. It looks quite chunky compared to the new I-phone and you need the stylus to really use the touch screen. It fortunately built like a tank and mines been airborne twice with very minor scrapes considering it landed on the pavement Quite pleased with it but not used the software as much as I had thought and will be changing it to a simpler phone next month, but its been nice to own.

The instruction manual is huge and scary though

I know very little about phones but cannot recommend the Nokia N96.
