I believe you have it there David - a very sound choice IMHO

zilspeed - 9/3/09 at 10:22 PM

1) Would be Rover P6 V8 or my old BMW 3.0si or Fiat 2.0 20V 5 cylinder in a Fiat Marea which I had.

2) This is a really tricky one.
Vebra Chevrolet which was based on a McLaren M10 or, 6R4 or, the boss of the racing team I help out at has an Italian V10 engined supercar which is nice.

There's lots of nice engines.

coozer - 9/3/09 at 10:38 PM

Yamaha 350LC with Allspeed spannys on...

a ring ting ting

Wish I'd kept them all

After the 2 strokes I rode around on a Z1000 with 4-1 that was a 6" by 2" diameter pipe after the collector with no silencer or baffle, boy did that make a noise. It was worse slamming the throttle shut BLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Observation - There's not that many bike engines being mentioned here now is there?
Fav that I've driven - 360 Modena
Fav not driven - Haven't got A favourite. There are lots that have been mentioned in the thread that I could sit and listen to all day. I think that as long as it involves sparks and petrol, I'm happy!

balidey - 10/3/09 at 07:50 AM

OK, I've not driven a V16 BRM, but I have sat in one, ie been in it . And been very close to it at 'full chat'

Best sounding one I have really driven was a scooby impreza, really nice 'burble' to them

Shadowcaster - 10/3/09 at 07:54 AM

1) Jag XJS V12.
2) This One sounds great

donut - 20/3/09 at 05:09 PM

Any Yank V8 especially if it's in a Cobra with side pipes!!

DarrenW - 20/3/09 at 05:16 PM

So many favourites its hard to decide.

One im not keen on though is sound of a diesel engines turbo failing and a piston lunching itself.

britishtrident - 20/3/09 at 05:54 PM

A good stright six or a v12 everything else sounds rough.

V6 and 3 and 5 cylinder engines are an offense to engineering and whoever came up with the perverted idea of a V5 wants locking up.
