Why do I bother?
Guinness - 11/3/09 at 09:49 AM

Just woken up to find that my car has been broken into. Some time between 12.30 am and 7.00 am this morning some theiving scrote has broken the back window in my tin top, stolen two Berghaus jackets off the back seat.

Phoned the insurance company who advised me to make a window claim (I have to pay £70 excess) rather than a full claim.

If I make a full claim I have a £100 excess, they only cover £100 of personal property in the car, and they pay for the window, but I lose my NCD.

Bastards.

Mike

Yes its definitely one for a window claim. A similar thing happened to me, nothing on show but I parked it in an area I shouldnt have done, they smashed it to poke around and found my ipod and bose headphones in the glove compartment.

Make a police report to, and that way on the slim slim chance that theres a string of car robberys in the area and the guys get caught then this can be pinned on them too.

what I don't get is there seems a large majority of decent people who suffer things like this and believe the scrotes should be punished.

So who are the faceless chinless wonders who subscribe to the belief that the crims are victims of their upbringing etc.

Inject cash to industry, create jobs and make Britain a nicer place to live - BUILD PRISON SHIPS

Stick them out about 3 miles, no visitors and basic conditions, no TV, playstation or molly coddling.

whose with me?

reoffending should drop

My cousin (who I have zip all to do with nowadays) is awaiting sentencing for possesion with intent to supply of a class A drug. He's been told he'll spend time behind bars so he updated his facebook status to read "....... is looking forward to his next holiday" he's never been inside before but doesn't seemed phased by it at all!!

Great idea, but is the ship really necessary?

I agree to a point. It's all fine basically locking them away in a box (it'd make me feel a lot better), but what sort of person would come back from that? They certainly aren't likely to be fine upstanding pillars of the community. Sure I understand they're scum anyway and I shed no tears for them whatsoever, but better to put them to hard labour I say. Something bloody hard and thankless. That would provide the deterant but also they might not be so afraid of a hard day's work when they come out.

Re-open the mines? Put them in the quarries? Make them toil the land by hand? Force them to finish doomed kitcar projects?

Rant over, back to work for me...

their coming back?

Na I like the idea, they'd never want to reoffend would they...

I'd make the hulls round and smooth with really high sides...so they sway like crazy

So we sit them in a rusty hulk surrounded with other lowlives getting bitterer and bitterer about how society has cast them out (cos they're all innocent in their own minds)... they'd reoffend, I'm certain. No different from how they do now, just it's in a boat rather than a cell with a bucket.

Solution? Well, put a hole in the bottom, there's a solution...

Bring back Chain Gangs

You may think that we need this man - I couldn't possibly comment...

Mike, back to the window.. I would report it to the police then get down the scrappy for a new window, save your NCB and a bit cash.

There is one thing for sure about a custodial sentance - it makes many forms of crime impossible as the offender is inside.
