My tintop makes a strange squeaking noise when moving along. Its rhythmic and speeds up as the car does and slows down with the car. Braking makes no
difference, nor does accelerating. Its not a very loud noise (only noticable when the window is down) its just annoying.
Any ideas as to what it could be?
A mouse???

Wheel bearing?
weak wheel bearing, they upgraded later on, top wishbone bushes shot, I shoved landrover panard rod bushes in mine, 1/4 the price!!!
Grab the front wheel and wobble, even when shot the car will still drive well.
what car
some have a small metal tag on the pads that touches the brake disc when they get low
I thought it was the wheel bearings but they all have the same amount of movement in them. Il have a look at the bushes and brakes tomorrow.
There are fixed bearings so should have minimum play, right pig to seperate as well, I had to heat the ABS lump with a gas axe and use an air chiesel
to undo mine.
Then 10 ton press to push out the old one. Only good thing is that people charge so much to do this you easily pay for you own tools when you do it
yourself
Earlier cars were much better with standard bearings that you could adjust, thats progress for you.
