ETB are great. I cant praise them highly enough.

Is yours pro or lite unit? What does the firware upgrade do? Might be worth posting what our current and new versions are.

Always been really helpful with me too.

Mines a DD2 lite that i bought in the group buy a few years ago so its a very early one.

Basically it failed due to the brake warning light not illuminating the icon, which on the early versions is just at the side, just needs a clear sticker over the top to remedy, the chap in the email said he would send me one.

Here is the email i received.

quote:

Dear Gavin

Yes yours is an early unit, and unfortunately without a change we made a couple of years ago that ensures speed starts up as the first screen on the LCD, which hence may explain why this came to light!

We have just completed a new set of firmware that adds a menu (on your unit unfortunately it will sacrifice a few of the other config menus) in manual setup mode called "ROAD and TRACK".

'ROAD' mode (for SVA purposes) when switched on to "1" (instead of "0" for Track mode), forces the MPH, RPM and GEAR display to the LCD and disables buttons A & B so that it can't be changed (i.e. testers with itchy fingers can't change it away from speed).
Only by holding down buttons A&B together, entering setup mode and changing the system to TRACK mode will the lcd display go back to "normal".

Anyway, all will become clear when you have your unit returned....

If you send it our address as below next week, we shall turn it around as quickly as we can (usually within a day or 2).

Kindest regards

John Gare

That's disappointing. I've spoken to John a handful of times and he's been friendly and helpful.

Yeah, I'm not in a particular rush to get it which is why I emailed and didn't phone. I think next time I'll phone

Another word of praise for ETB.

I went for one of their & kits with conventional dials when I rang them to order and give them the details of the "card disc" test also said I had been supplied a fuel sender by kit manufacturer gave them the resistance range and they have matched fuel gauge to fuel sender.

Delivery was spot on when they had said too

Top Blokes.

Sent the dash in Tuesday, returned on Thursday with new firmware a copy of the manuals and software on CD and a sticker placed over the brake warning light.

Excellent service
