Another car gadget

Went to a meet this weekend where the local Street Rod Club had their cars on show. Some of the guys have a remote device that lets than start, and rev up, the car from a distance. The trick is to wait until a crown has gathered around the open bonnet of an apparently unattended car and then fire it up, to the bystanders suprise.

Maybe old hat in street rod circles, but I hadn't seen that before. Suppose it works fine, provided no one has knocked the car into gear......

Cheers

mmm been a feature of Clifford car alarms for many years, i remember american cars having them in the 80s, but they don't like to fit them on manual gearboxes, only automatics where they can only start in park or neutral (or is it just park?)

Highly illegal in the UK

Would imagine that Jollygreengiant would have loved that fitted to the Dodge Viper engined Luego at Newark a couple of years ago? Mind you starting it from a distance with the bonnet off would be a bit dodgy? Can see a few fingers going missing.
