unidentified griffin
humber - 28/7/02 at 09:18 PM

we have aquired a griffin (lotus essprite shaped ) kit car in need of restoration but would like to obtain building hand/instruction book any help would be welcome.

chrisg - 29/7/02 at 11:27 PM

Ahh the Griffin,

Originally launched by Poole based Griffin Design in 1985 as the GDXM. it was well styled, certainly by the standards of the day and still looks pretty good today........

Or so it says in this months(aug) "Kit Car"magazine - It was last month's mystery car.

Theres some more stuff about it too, maybe if you contact them they might be able to help.

Cheers

Chris

PS where are you going to get a Morris Minor donor??

Metal Hippy™ - 29/7/02 at 11:36 PM

Doesn't the fact he said restoration suggest it's already complete with donor stuff in it?

Hate to question a clever person such as yourself, but I felt I had to...

chrisg - 29/7/02 at 11:41 PM

Good God holmes......

What if the restoration includes the mechanical parts?

(I just don't know.....but then neither do you)

I was just trying to help*sob*

Cheers

Idiot

Metal Hippy™ - 29/7/02 at 11:43 PM

I've got a plan that you could agree with...

We both shut up and let him ask them you suggested.

At least he'll get better answers out of them..?

chrisg - 29/7/02 at 11:45 PM

youv'e confused me now

Am I right?

Tell you what Humber just rip thye bit about morry minor donors out, how's that??

Cheers

Chris

Metal Hippy™ - 29/7/02 at 11:48 PM

Do I start watering you twice a week now or once you start wilting?

Oh sorry, your wife said you already have...

I'll start now.

chrisg - 29/7/02 at 11:50 PM

Protect your intellect hippy, while you still know everything.

Cheers

Chris

Metal Hippy™ - 29/7/02 at 11:53 PM

I don't claim to know everything.

On the contrary, I know nothing.

It's just that your level is pretty similar...

chrisg - 29/7/02 at 11:55 PM

sod off

Metal Hippy™ - 29/7/02 at 11:57 PM

Ohhhhh the pain.

I'm hurt you should tell me to sod off.

Me of all people.

Wazzock.

chrisg - 30/7/02 at 12:01 AM

I'm not having a battle of wits with an unarmed man

Metal Hippy™ - 30/7/02 at 12:03 AM

If I've got no arms then how the funk do I drive?

Answer that moron.

chrisg - 30/7/02 at 05:05 PM

Drive what?

Metal Hippy™ - 30/7/02 at 05:16 PM

A Vulcan bomber, obviously.

Dolt.

chrisg - 30/7/02 at 08:41 PM

Not a Locost tho eh!!

Cme back when you've cut some steel sonny

Metal Hippy™ - 30/7/02 at 08:44 PM

From what I've heard you haven't either.

Anyway, I have cut plenty steel, it's just that we've now got a 3.5 litre BMW instead of a crappy Pinto so we're redesigning the chassis....

Anyway, Chief Mechanical Engineer back?

chrisg - 30/7/02 at 08:46 PM

Consider your self officially ignored

Metal Hippy™ - 30/7/02 at 08:47 PM

Miserable git.

I thought you were the King Of Insults?

chrisg - 30/7/02 at 08:50 PM

That's miserable git with a Locost to you

Anyway*fingers in ears* La la la la la

I can't hear you

Ps why do you consider yourself worth of any of my insults, never mind the good ones?

Metal Hippy™ - 30/7/02 at 08:53 PM

Knackers to you then.

This game's boring.

We didn't manage to get one person to moan at us about it.

chrisg - 30/7/02 at 08:59 PM

No, as a social experiment it appears to have failed miserably.

It just proves if you want a good argument you have to go elsewhere, if you know what I mean.

Just to confirm that the man known as hippy is my bestest fri end in the whole world, and this was an experiment in list demographics(look it up)

Cheers

Chris

stephen_gusterson - 30/7/02 at 09:58 PM

You missed out the key ingredient needed to catalise a riot on TOL..........

ME!

chrisg - 30/7/02 at 10:15 PM

I'll bear that in mind next time Steve!

Cheers

Chris

BTW how realistic was that as a "flame"war?

Metal Hippy™ - 30/7/02 at 11:24 PM

Yeah, but Steve...

We wanted to see if we could have fun without you.

We failed, but I'm not sure we put full effort into the experiment.

Ah well.

stephen_gusterson - 31/7/02 at 07:58 AM

Well, I actually started to type in a message during it making some kinda jokey 'calm down' comment, but I couldnt be bothered to get involved so i didnt post it.

So, it must have been a little convincing, but whats an argument between a fat northern suspected homosexual bloke and a long haired person of dubious hygiene?

Does that get you going

(All joking BTW - I love you both - now be worried )

Metal Hippy™ - 31/7/02 at 08:30 AM

stephen_gusterson - 31/7/02 at 06:10 PM

chrisg - 31/7/02 at 07:42 PM

My wife and my 2 kids(that I know about) reckon I'm not a homosexual

I do wear glasses

I just short for my weight

I am, however, a bloke

2 out of 4

You're right about the hippy tho...

Cheers

Bloke in glasses

stephen_gusterson - 31/7/02 at 10:10 PM

Hey chris. you have used that defence before.

It was just before your demise on TOL when Stagsparty (now known as the isonblade man) reconed we were both making homo comments.

Except this time you left out the bit about being a studmuffin.

Spending too long inn the garage to the detriment of your other toolbox hey Chris.

(BTW Jon - nowt homo in this at all!)

chrisg - 31/7/02 at 10:27 PM

stephen_gusterson - 1/8/02 at 11:00 PM

chrisg - 2/8/02 at 05:34 PM

Actually Humber,

If you read the only serious post in this thread,(the second one)
I told you where to look.

Good luck with it though,

Cheers

Chris

Metal Hippy™ - 2/8/02 at 07:14 PM

Sorry to go charging off at a tangent again, but I need to correct Chris on something again...

The Homer Simpson quote is actually:

"They were the suckiest bunch of sucks that ever sucked"

Then he procedes to say:

"Oh, I gotta go. My damn weener kids are listening"

chrisg - 2/8/02 at 08:58 PM

Christ on a bike

shut up!!!

Cheers

Chris

chrisg - 2/8/02 at 08:59 PM

Cheers

Chris

Metal Hippy™ - 2/8/02 at 10:53 PM

Once would have been enough.

You had to go and make it nasty by saying it twice.

chrisg - 3/8/02 at 10:49 AM

I am going to have to replace this BBC model B computer

Cheers

Chris

Try thrashing it like crazy while running it on 24 volts for 30 secs or so - it will be fine then

chrisg - 3/8/02 at 09:24 PM

Yeah, worked with the Pinto.........!!!!!!

Cheers

Chris

Peteff - 6/8/02 at 07:48 PM

Who's the Vic Reeves lookalike in the toys'r'us catalogue anyway . If you lot start on trekkies you will bring the list into disrepute and we will have to close down the internet completely .

My favourite Homer quote is,
"See, because of me they put a warning on the bottle"
yours, Pete

chrisg - 6/8/02 at 08:22 PM

I know from bitter experience not to "dis" trekkies.

They are the most wonderful individuals in the world, and not at all "Sad".

Vic Reeves, Eh? can't see it myself, although you do look like the invisible man

(subtle hint - let's see your piccy!)

Cheers

Chris
