This may be a numpty question.
My car was sorned for the winter, do i need to do anything else but just go along and tax it next week ?
Weather report, it will p**s down next W/end
So long as you have an MOT and insurance, you should be able to tax it online. You dont even have to wait for the tax disc to arrive before you can
legally drive the car!! You get a 5 working day grace period to allow DVLA to get the tax disc out to you!!

You can't (shouldn't
) use the car on the road without a disc displayed, nthere is no grace period
With ReMan. There's no grace period. In all honesty if you get caught without displaying nowt'll probably happen but you should be displaying at all times.
Whilst I would have agreed with Reman and Mr Grumpy, the latest ad campaign for taxing online does say that you don't have to wait for the disc to arrive to use the car on the road!!!
I stand corrected then.I can't find anything on the DVLA site confirming it but I'm happy to go along with Owelly. Like I say, if you're not displaying a check will usually be done and the DVLA database will show it's covered and so you'll usually be let off.

You're right Paul. I'm wrong there. Cheers for that, my motorbike is at the end of its SORN soon too.
No probs - i remembered searching for the info in a previous thread a few weeks back.
Fak u
This would'nt be the DVLA contradicting itself would it now?
Link don't want to play.
But common Qusestions, Payment and delivery, still says....
"It is an offence to use a vehicle on a public road without displaying a valid tax disc.

BEWARE taxin online Robbing Ba55tard DVLA warning.
If you tax online before the 1st of the month the DVLA will tax you from the begining of the month i.e March not April
I know cause they did this very thing on my Galaxy ba55tards
A lot less hastle just to pop down the post office & tax it in person.
You never know, you may even be helping to keep your local post office open.
