I have a flat panel tv with a built in dvd player.

Oh no I hear you say - don't buy one of those - what happens if the dvd player breaks...

Well the dvd player has broken what can I do???

Does anyone know if the dvd drive will be a standard pc drive that I can pick up for £20 and just fit myself?

Hi some are standard pc dvd's , some are laptop dvd's, some are coustom made.
The best thing to do is get the back off the tv and google the model numbers.
