Note this it an attempt to make this innocuous thread up onto the longest running list on the front page. Reason being to knock off a certain other thread that isn't very positive to the site.

it didnt work, its all down to number of pages!

how about we play that game, where you all repeat what the last people said and add a word on? Like a long shopping list

why would you want useless drivel at the top of te longest thread page? that would make potential new visitors just as wary as the reason we're trying to change it in the first place - imagine if the longest running thread was just tosh, that would give out just as bad an image as to teh type that lurk around here!

Good point Ned, but we had to see if it worked.

Better this than causing panic amongst new members that their lower wishbones are going to snap and kill them in a fire ball.

True enough. I think the only real solution to the problem is to lobby ChrisW to remove those (to be honest quite meaningless) information boxes from the front page.

Then everyone's happy.
