First one is on tonight at 9pm, then tomorrow and sunday same time.

Had this on my calender for over 2 months now, can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!! I bought the entire box set few months ago!!!!!!!!!!!
What happened on the last programme of the last series? Was it all profound and they went their own ways? I can't remember.
<3 dwarfy. Series 8 huffed dongs. I'm going to assume the new eps will be poor, if they turn out to be good then that's a bonus ^__^
Fave eps are usually better than life and gunmen of the apocalypse, amirite? "dry white wine and perrier!"

So is Rimmer coming back as Ace, or as himself?
The line I found so funny that on first hearing it I spat lager on the TV from 10 feet away...
"Yeah, I'd go with Betty .... but I'd be thinking of Wilma."
Legend
I'm looking forward to this a bit too much.
Not gonna watch it live though, it's too important for that
HELP......
What side?
I can't find it
Bugga... just seen it's on DAVE
I can't get that..

Big Suze!
Well used to be a real fan of Red Dwarf and watch it last night. Have to say I was disappointed, something just seemed to be missing
Went down my mates last night to watch it, coz I can't get DAVE Tv
VERY dissapointed.
Everything was there but as Neil says.
Something was missing !!!
Maybe my expectations were too high.

Though it was too slow moving, only character with any spark was the cat. Should have brought back Holly as well.
I'll watch the rest now, but first episode wasn't great.
The whole thing seemed a bit uptight and Rimmer didn't seem his usual self. A big thing for me and I never thought I'd miss it is the audience laughing in the background. It just seemed a bit empty without it.
Yeah lack of studio audience made a huge difference. Good bits: It did have a certain darkness that dwarf never had before which I thought was good,
especially at the start. The CG blew series 8 out of the water and sophie winkleman is hot.
I think they should have used the original camera/editing equipment from series 6 era, it's all too perfect/clinical now, all the actors have
tons of make up on. I'd want lower quality picture with real sets. The sound quality/production on Emperor - in the nightside eclipse is
awful but it wouldn't be a great album if it wasn't like that, adds to the atmosphere ^__^

Yeas I agree on the lower quality too. I'd have like the squids tentacles to be made out of rubber rather than computer generated and Listers
room that had a motorbike in was a bit too much. Where's the basic bunk beds?
I'm hoping Holly comes back tonight.
I suspected that it would be a disappointment...
I select programmes according to the "inverse publicity law" - the more they advertise a programme, the less likely it is that I will enjoy
it.
Quite often the programmes I enjoy the most are the ones that don't get hyped, and I've discovered by accident.
I tend to think the acting was ok, but the script left something to be desired. Just didn't click, and they compounded it by showing one of the best episodes straight afterwards!
I agree, showing Gunmen of the Apocalypse after showed how funny it used to be.
Reminds me of when they brought back Only fools and Horses for a couple of extra episodes. Really wasnt that funny.
They should just carry on showing the best ones on repeat!
Still holding out hope for tonight and tomorrow.
What a let down
That was...dire XD On the plus side it makes series 8 look great
I used to be a big Red Dwarf fan. I particularly liked the episode where they had to find out which was the real Lister, and they gave one of them a
guitar to play, and he played it really well, and the others shot him. Turned out he was reading Lister's mind, and Lister thought he was a
really good player. Sophisticated humour in amongst the slapstick.
Managed 10 minutes of the new series
John
I thought the second episode was better than the first, not great, just not really bad. Liked the Blade Runner rip off and Lister on the bus scenes.
It was virtually inevitable that it was going to be crap compared to the original series, I can hardly remember a comeback series that wasn't.
It's been 10 years since the last of the original series, and even the last of those weren't a patch on the earlier series. IMO the acting
so far in Back To Earth has been pretty wooden, the crew simply don't have the spark that they used to have, which is understandable I guess.
Plot seems to be a bit ropey as well...time will tell.
Out of interest how many RD fans watched Robert Llewellyn's IT2I2?
I didn't like the bus trip scene it sort of detracted from the whole space idea.
I think the acting is okay except Rimmer. The Cat kept it up and went to Hollywood, starred in one of the Blade films. Lister stars 3 or 4 times a
week in Corrie (!) and Cryton, well he's never really broke his role has he
I liked it, but it did raise some questions:
Who the hell is that girl?
How can Red Dwarf sustain 2 holograms?
Where did the crew go?
Damn it, my Sky+ decided to go belly up yesterday. Is it worth finding the episode online somewhere? If it's much like the first episode, I'm not sure I'll bother. There's just too many holes in the story, and what story there is is slow and doesn't add up.
It's Dave mate. It'll be repeated a squillion times. I saw the first episode 3 times between 9 and midnight on Friday!
Some sad bugger is typing the synopsis into wikipedia day by day. Missed last night's episode, have it recorded, but it really doesn't look
too exciting.

Oh! It was all a dream and they all lived happily ever after! Shite!
A 5 year old could have written that.
