Do the front indicators have to be e-marked for the iva. cheers
yes and for the sva as should all lights
Note 3: The brightness of lamps bearing an appropriate
approval mark as given in Annex 1 defines the acceptable
standard. Lamps not bearing such a mark should emit light of
similar brightness.
e marked lights are taken as assumed they meet the requirements. non e marked lights are not a definite no, but will be checked. if they are
comparable to emarked lights they should be fine
For IVA Headlamps and Fog lamps MUST be e marked (Fog lamps with an additional F or B marking)
Indicators don't need e-marks but it's up to you to prove they are compliant with brightness etc. if they aren't. For angle of
visibility e-marks aren't relevant as the mounting method means they have to be tested as presented.
Have you actually read the draft IVA manual Mr Whippy? or do you have a source of information that says there are additional requirements to those
mentioned in the bumper book'o'rules?
