been searching the net for info on Jago jeeps, eagle RV's and even the spartan trekka.
what are they like?
dont want it for offroading, more lugging stuff about and general abuse really.
any opinons/facts/experiences welcome.
cheers,
will
I've not driven any of them, but it seems to me that the Jagos are a bit more "pure" jeep looking, but are 2 wheel drive and a bit smaller. The Eagles (at least some of them) could be put on a Daihatsu Fourtrak chassis, so might be a better bet for lugging stuff?
trextr7monkey is a big fan of Jago jeeps, I believe has has had lots, sold one on here a little while ago IIRC
John
Spartan built truly awful sports car kits --- and I mean awful I drove one a friend had meticulously put together and was horrified by the
experience --- don't know anything about the Treka .
Siva Lama had pretty surprising cross country performance but only 2 are known to still exist..
funnily enough it was trextr7monkey selling his jago that got me interested.
didnt known about the fourtrak chassis option, a mate has a fourtrak and swears by it. will look into that...
ill take the advice and avoid anything spartan!
cheers guys
I happy to say that many many years ago my first interest in building a kit car started by seeing a Eagle RV. I had at the time a Daihatsu F20 1.6
four wheel drive and considered using this as a donor but had the opertunity to drive in a sierra based one and although it was not the good as a
production car it was better than the F20 as it had the better suspension. There is the option of the 4 wheel drive sierra but never seen one
advertised complete. There is also the option of range rover based ones, but not sure if it uesd a shortend chassis or not.
There is also the cortine based ones Would still love one now, but would purly be for the love of it rather than the purpose i wanted if for the first
time.Towing my bangers.

I have a more than a passing interest in Jago's, just wish I had the room for one.
My plan was to buy a cheap Suzuki SJ and stick the Jago body on top.
That would be as close to a Willys as you can get without spending a lottery win.
ISTR the original Jago was Ford Anglia based !!
Speaking of Willys MB I can remember when the French were selling of their Hotchkis produced ones for pennies.
A I sent a good Champ to junk cause nobody wanted it.
