always seems to happen on every DVD, on every DVD player i've had (which is quite a few now...) but the volume keeps going really quiet at times,
for no apparent reason.
example, i'm watching alan partridge on DVD, when him and the builder are talking the volume drops, but goes back up again when people laugh, so
its not like automatic volume limiting, or compressors or something, but REALLY annoying
Is it only on dvd? Not sky box or anything else? Have you tried taking said dvd and player round to someone else's tv? Used a different scart lead/plug?
yep, only dvd. does it on the telly in my room, the one in the living room, over the years its 4 different tellys, 4 different dvd players, and on computer too. if i'm feeling engergetic, i'll try and get a video on of it. its quite a big difference
Have you tried the same equipment in a different house? If it works fine somewhere else you must have a ghost that hates Steve Coogan...
he hates all dvds. especially father ted. maybe he just doesn't like catholic priests...
anyway, have a look here

Bizarre, the final thing I can think of is there's some other kind of interference from some other appliance. Unplug the phone, sky/freeview, internet, everything in that room and adjacent rooms if it's in the corner and try it then... After that I seriously haven't a scooby...
could you hear how much quiety it was when micheal was talking?
i really don't understand it, it does it on any telly or amp (on that vid i was using a seperate amp for the sound) does it on my telly upstairs
which isn't connected to sky or anything. i can't believe it only happens to me though, coz it does it on any dvd, opn any tv, on and dvd
player
They're all a bit like that for me, it's much better with a surround sound speaker setup, I've found most of the speech comes through the centre speaker nice and loud...
Make sure your DVD player set up options are set to stereo and not 5.1.
Also check that the audio settings on each DVD you play has defaulted to stereo.
This problem is usually down to having the wrong sound settings....
awesome, i'll go through the settings later.
right you've made 1 glaring error there, michael is infact a petrol station attendant and not a builder, i repeat not a builder. Some
people.....
(you have to watch oap to get it lol)
