theconrodkid - 23/5/09 at 01:53 PM

yea go for it JB...hamilton is sooooooo last week

liam.mccaffrey - 23/5/09 at 02:06 PM

i know its cool and all but i really didn't want to know who got pole. I'd recorded it to watch with the wife later.

Can you please not put a spoiler in the heading of your post.

Rant over and my apologies for being a bitch

Mark Allanson - 23/5/09 at 02:11 PM

What channel is it on later - I missed it too, taking advantage of the weather and a full tank of fuel!

b16mts - 23/5/09 at 02:36 PM

Oh for fcuks sake. I'm sat watching it all now, seems pointless now I know what happens!!

THANKS!

eccsmk - 23/5/09 at 02:38 PM

i guess its still worth watching later with a beer in hand

This is a petrolheads forum... if you were trying to 'hide' from the result of an F1 event until the highlights programme later, then surely you should have the basic gumption to stay away from a website like this!

Hardly rocket-science!

iscmatt - 23/5/09 at 03:36 PM

I think every time there has been an f1 so far this year there has always been a spoiler on here followed by someone complaining about it!! If you dont want to know what happened close your eyes and ears, hide behind the sofa and wait for the replay!

liam.mccaffrey - 23/5/09 at 03:52 PM

You can say whatever you want about this but by puting the qualy result (or leaving it out for that matter), in a post title will in no way alter the quality of the resulting post.

So if you wanted to be a nice guy and considerate of others, leave the result out of the title. If you don't, put a spoiler in. I don't really care

stevec - 23/5/09 at 03:52 PM

Arse, Have you gone mad Alex,

Does it really matter? It's not like it's the result of the race.

greggors84 - 23/5/09 at 04:39 PM

Beware Spoiler!

Jensen wins the race from pole tomorrow.

Danozeman - 23/5/09 at 04:39 PM

It still needs to be watched even though you know the pole. Was very good racing.

JoelP - 23/5/09 at 05:42 PM

i would agree that theres no need to post the result in the title. Many people will want to watch it later and not knowing the result makes it much more enjoyable. It takes very little brain power to appreciate that, and even less to choose a more suitable title.

FFS.

CRAIGR - 23/5/09 at 06:14 PM

Stop your whining theres worst things that could happen like Hamilton getting pole. Hardly like its life or death to find outy what has predominantly happened so far all season in boremula one is it. Jeeeeeeeeez

No chance of that. He peaked too soon.

eddie99 - 23/5/09 at 06:50 PM

Awesome lap from him, as said before, if you dont want to know, dont go on to a car forum...

so we just accept that people who post on car forums are all inconsiderate twats? It takes no effort at all.

stevec - 23/5/09 at 10:40 PM

Well said Joel.

Steve.

daniel mason - 23/5/09 at 11:47 PM

i can see from both sides but he never meant to spoil things for everyone! if he is as keen as i am about F1 he probably made an effort to watch it live. its a tooough one but no need to get arsey with him!

cd.thomson - 24/5/09 at 08:18 AM

when you only need to listen to the radio for 20-30minutes before the news comes on and announces it then I don't think anybody is being inconsiderate.

I would say calling somebody a "tw*t" for wanting to chat about some insignificant qualifying result puts you in a far more "tw*t"ish position.

If I record the F1 then I assume theres a large chance I will accidentally find out the result whether I want to or not, news headlines, overhearing a conversation, a text from an excited mate. Its not their fault, I'm the one in the unusual position of being very interested but not watching it at the time. I would recommend finding something of at least some importance to get annoyed about rather than this.

iank - 24/5/09 at 08:36 AM

It's not the fact it's being discussed, it's the fact the result was used as the title, so you can't avoid it even if you want to.

How difficult would it be to use a title like "Exciting finish to qualifying, brilliant lap" which means everyone who wants to discuss it can and those that don't want to know can still read the rest of the forum.

Not that I give a toss about F1, and qualifying even less.

Peteff - 24/5/09 at 08:52 AM

He could have meant Jenson had got a big stick up his bum, now that would have been different.

wasnt referring to OP, though to be fair he hasnt bothered to change the title.

Why dont we ban all threads of this nature to a subforum that doesnt appear on the "todays posts" listing. Then everyone know not to go in there if they don't want to know any results?

Exercising some simple courtesy should be rather more straighforward

prawnabie - 24/5/09 at 11:54 AM

/rant

Regardless of whether the title should be hidden or not, this thread, and others like it, will never end if one sides argument is answered with an argument from the "other" side.

My previous post should have been seen as a neutral answer and if anyone was actuall bothered about coming to a decision, rather than adding yet more fuel to the fire, then something like that or similar should be adopted.

As it stands, this thread will probably be locked and we will all feel like little children - that is until the end of the main race when it will all start again (probably in a new post therefore knocking a useful question on the list for yet more useless banter).

Rant/

richard thomas - 25/5/09 at 07:40 PM

Anybody seen that episode of 'The Likely Lads'.....

Was going to post about what happened to me today, but second thoughts now in case someone doesn't want to know until later......

Am I safe to talk about the result yet, or has someone recorded it and isn't going to watch it until next week?
