How long for a delivery
handyandy - 2/6/09 at 12:02 PM

i ordered some parts from an Ebay supplier, paid via Paypal on the 25th May & still not arrived with me,

have sent him a message & he replied with " have been despatched via normal parcel post"
the postage costs were £12 for a 3kg order.....
how long should it take to recieve the items do you think?
really pi$$,d off as he promised i,d have them by last weekend
sorry rant over but this is holding up my build.

andy

well, its only 2nd june today, so i wouldn't expect anything til the end of the month

er, yeah, 25th of may though, it should really be here by now

I assume you mean May, not June!?

I had the same with someone on ebay. Faulty goods, which I returned, and the seller claimed he never recieved them....

Assuming he used a 2nd class service, 3-5 working days maximum. Any longer, and he is spinning you a line...

Looking at the calender, I would say you should expect it any time now really. If it is not here by the end of the week, it aint coming!

handyandy - 2/6/09 at 12:13 PM

yeah sorry i meant i paid for the goods on 25th May, have now corrected first post.
maybe i,m being a tight ar$e but £12 postage seems like it should be quicker delivery time for a 3kg parcel, ????
his feedback is 100% so i,m trying to give benefit of doubt , its just so annoying when it was promised it,d be with me by last weekend, i,ve even asked for a tracking number to see if i can chase it but he doesn,t have one as it was sent "normal parcel service", for £12 .

yeah, £12 for a 3 kg parcel, i'd be expecting next day delivery, or maybe 2 day. 25th may was a monday (?) you should really have had it by the end of last week at the latest

handyandy - 2/6/09 at 12:30 PM

yeah 25th was last monday(bank holiday) i,m now into the 9th day from paying for the goods, if its not here by end of week i,m raising a dispute via ebay/paypal. i think his postal charge is taking the whizz for "normal parcel post", 48hr then fair enough but now over a week.
i suspect he,s "making " money on postal costs. rant rant

andy
ps won,t be using him again.

I'd pull his personal details off ebay then ring him. People find it a bit more difficult to lie when they answer the phone to a "real" pissed off person

If he's earning on the postage, as long as the parcel isn't sent "tracked" just claim you never received it, your paypal payment will be refunded and the sender will be sat with no money, wishing he'd spent more on the postage/insurance

if the parcel isn,t here tomorrow then yes i,ll try verbal contact as like i said earlier £12 postage for over a week to deliver is taking the pi$$.
i like the idea of claiming it was never received, tho i,m probably too honest for my own good when it comes to things like that, but yes its tempting, if the goods are not available to be despatched quickly what is the point of an auction on ebay?
thanks guys for your support/suggestions.
thanks
andy

The p&p charge on ebay is rarely the same as the price of the courier. People, especially professional shops, have to buy boxes, bubblewrap etc to get it sent safely. A lot of people also charge for the time/petrol/wear and tear on the car for taking it to the post office (26p a mile isn't unreasonable). All those are fair IMO as the "and packaging" charge.

Having said that £12 seems a lot for 3kg if it's not on a speedy insured rate.

coozer - 2/6/09 at 05:53 PM

yep, £12 is too much for anything IMO.

Parcel2go costs £8 for 2 day delivery up to 20kg.

I really dont think this is the way to go.

So saying he sent it RM 'Standard Parce' and saying the insurance is up to £100 that would cost £8. Say £1 for packing and £1 driving to the PO.
That leaves £2 'profit' from postage which covers all the time taken do all of the above.

As for timing I would have been expecting it yesterday or today. If it isnt there by the end of this week i would getting worried.

Personally I just think he may have been a bit slow at sending it. Other than that nothing too bad.

handyandy - 2/6/09 at 06:49 PM

thats what i,m hoping it is, just slow in actually despatching the goods, i really am trying to be reasonable with the supplier, just very frustrated that i can,t do what i need to do to my build.
fingers crossed for tomorrow delivery, if not then i,m gonna be well pi$$ed off.
thanks for support & keeping me level headed when i feel like kicking something
and no i won,t kick the postie
andy

handyandy - 3/6/09 at 05:36 PM

well guess what ????????????????????????
NO BLOOMIN DELIVERY today either

if & when the parcel does arrive i might claim it never did, the supplier has already left me good feedback stating "super fast payment", its not the same for his bloody delivery!!!
sorry for the rant, i,m trying to be reasonable but this is a joke.
a pi$$ed off Andy

handyandy - 4/6/09 at 06:14 PM
