Bet it sinks after a while.
Looks like a better solution than just tamping down loose tarmac into the hole....
But you will never get anything to adhere perminantly to such a small area...
And I bet thats not cheap to run!!!
Around here most of the potholes are related to damage caused by badly installed ironwork and shite patches in the road where the utilities have
butchered the road surface....
hmm could firing stones at the 'good' tarmac not break it up?
Thats some grit blast gun.
Seen this in action. The results are crap! It leaves a very lumpy surface.
adrian
actually seems to be making a right mess, just look at that wall, its all black!
I think I'd be rather pi$$ off if it was mine and someones
come along and coated it in tar!
then there's all those loose stone chips covered with tar that not only will chip you windscreen but stick to the paintwork
They've still got to close the road so why not do it properly and also roll the surface flat? Looks dreadful

And an accident waiting to happen for bikes.
They arent new we had 2 on our fleet when I was working in highways maintenance over 10 years ago. They arent too bad but we only used on small
potholes preferring normal hot rolled patching for larger areas.
Loose chips bound together with bitumen and compacted makes tarmac. This isnt the same as surface dressing which is spraying tar and then dropping
loose chippings. Surface dressing is a cheap fix meant for rural road with little traffic. Local authorities who dont spend much on highways
maintenance are nowadays using on higher speed / volume roads.
