how do RAL codes work?

i'm looking for some flourescent orange paint to do my axle again as i've had some brackets welded on, and some has chipped.

seen this butif i walked into any paint supplier with RAL number 2005, could anyone mix it up?

Mine is RAL 2008.

Nice and simple solid colour.

Yep it will be on there colour charts.

so ral2005 is specifically flourescent orange?

can halfords go by RAL numbers?

Not sure but when looking for my colour, i just looked through the colour charts and found a nice orange and it had that code on it.

The RAL number is a specific code for any colour.
If you go to a paint shop, then they will be able to mix a RAL colour, and i think most paint mixing machines tell the operator how much of a certain colour to use, or even mix itself. Even the muppets at Halfords should be able to do it, as i think they have machines nowadays.

My local paint shop has mixed RAL colours for me in an aerosol. An excellent colour match too.

cool i'll give them a shot, see what they can do.

i was starting to think that i could only get it in spray cans which are rubbish. until i saw the one on ebay. its expensive though.
