Taking a still from a video
Mark G - 15/6/09 at 09:50 PM

Hi,

I've got a video that I want to take a still image from but if I print screen at the point then when I paste it the video screen just becomes almost like a transparent layer on the desktop. Don't know if that makes sense.

does anyone know how to do it or can anyone do it for me. Its a video of me driving my indy and its of my face with jelly cheeks. I want as a facebook profile image...

cheers

Media Player Classic will allow you to do this. You may need to download the appropriate codecs for whatever format you are using.

bit high end type stuff but adobe premiere the video editing program allows you export a frame to an image format like jpeg/tif etc....

give media player classic a bash though

there are several programms that allo you to take a snapshot. not sure whether it can be done in moviemaker standard MS programme supplied with nearly all MS operating systems

There's a really good bit of software which I've used to do this which goes back and forwards a few frames to smooth the image and produce better quality.

Can't remember the name for the life of me htough I'll try posting a link when I'm back at home and on my desktop.....
