I'm really jarred off with these, i've lost about 20, so i decided to try a different size(smaller) now the speedo is 20mph out at 30mph and gets worse the faster you go any ideas?
If the sensor is further away now do to smaller (thinner) magnets then it can affect accuracy.
Are you using 2 part adhesive? rubbing it down with sand paper before so its nice and clean metal?
remember centripetal force - the further away from the centre, the greate it is.
so mount them to the prop as opposed to the flange.
or fork out for the gearbox adapter, £ 20 and a sender unit.
or sensor make your own like I did.
Or mount them to the output shaft on the diff. turning a bit slower than the prop, mine have not fallen off yet

Stuck mine to the output flange of the diff with PU adhesive, not come off yet. Pretty much covered the magnet with it though!
Your smaller magnets might not be powerful enough to trip the sensor at speed? The magnets are usually pretty strong.
I've got a load of magnets if you need any. Can stick them in the post to you for nothing. Worked fine and are probably the right size for your needs.
I drilled a small hole to sit each magnet in, then used araldite all around to hold it .
Not lost one yet .....
Drilling holes in the propshaft??!?!?

Current magnets will be too small for the sensor and it's missing pulses, this gets worse the faster the magnets pass the sensor (maybe fixable
if you move the sensor closer, but that depends on how true the rotating part rotates).
Duct tape works well to keep them on if glueing isn't working.
i got the sensor from burton power. the ali adapter fits in the type 9 box, and there is a ford sensor that goes with it, not cheap though, but more
reliable than magnets and glue and lining up sensors and stuff.
apparently, the adapter takes many other manufacturers sensors. haven't tried though, but you might be able to pick something up from a scrappy
Burtons have both the sensor and the adapter on ebay at the moment

After useing Araldite i then applied tape around them all , none have fallen off as yet . I suppose ever little helps.
I may even go down the gearbox sensor route in the future though.

Why not use a:

No magnets required, just picks up on bolt heads

Measured the circumference of my prop shaft divided it by nine cut the tape to the same length of the prop shaft circumference and then stuck the magnets a regular interveal to the tape. Put another layer of tape over the top. Held the tape end to the prop and pushed the car to wind on the magnets. I then used a cable tie at each end of the magnets. The whole thing was then covered with gaffer tape. The signal is good and the magnets stay inplace. Barry
